Our task was to build a home for a family of four with their puppy Goldie, ensuring it meets structural standards, features high-quality finishes, stays within budget, and adheres to the design standards of both Peter Taylor (the building designer) and Kate Cooper (interior designer). Additionally, we were responsible for landscaping the surrounding area and constructing a pool that complements the house’s design and style while integrating with the natural environment and preserving the existing old mango tree.
We sourced and used various materials and inclusions that were special and different for this project. To achieve the Hamptons look while minimizing maintenance and maximizing durability, we opted for New TechWood composite decking and James Hardie Linea board cladding on the exterior of the house. At the front of the home, we installed hand-pitched granite retaining walls to retain the original mango tree, which was a specific client requirement. To balance durability with cost efficiency, we used engineered timber flooring throughout the house. The kitchen features natural stone benchtops, adding to the overall elegance and sophistication of the home. These unique choices have contributed to making this project stand out and meet the client’s expectations.
