About the house:
The SeaStar, designed by Henriette Warner designs is a modern interpretation of mid-century design and showcases a coastal, Palm Springs colour palette. The intention of the house was to push the boundaries of what is considered a traditionally designed, family home with a price most dual income families can aspire to. Purpose built for the Queensland family, the house consists of soaring ceilings with opening Velux skylights, large back sliding doors and a plunge pool, creating cool cross breezes for sustainable living. The Master suit is located at the back of the property to offer great separation from the two kids bedrooms situated at the front. With recent world events including the covid-19 pandemic we felt it was important that the home had a space large enough for home schooling or dual offices perfect for “working from home”. Giving the growing popularity amongst sunshine coast developers for smaller lots creating an office space often requires sacrifices with the living areas being the first to be affected. Our designer, Henriette Warner her used her talents to create a larger than normal office nook that we are pleased to say has not disadvantaged any living or bedroom space. The 4th “flex” room is positioned adjacent to the open plan living areas making it the ideal media room, playroom, guest bedroom or 4th bedroom with a built-in wardrobe.
About the finishes:
The exterior is clad with James Hardie Linea board and painted with Haymes paint half strength surf mist. Continuing with the Palm Springs inspiration, the façade features Roma Limestone stone clad. The interior has a light, coastal colour pallet with mid-century design elements. The interior walls, skirts, doors, ceilings and architraves are painted in Haymes Builders White in various finishes. The Kitchen and joinery are custom made by Kitchen Contours in the brand Polytec and colour Agave which is a beautiful blue/green colour, with timber look joinery in Polytec Primeoak giving the illusion of expensive hardwood for a fraction of the price. The feature tile wrapping the island bench is Japanese Impression MK2 Sky Sticks from National Tiles. The interior feature walls are clad in various profiles from Surround by Laminex to create depth and a point of interest. The house is fitted with Ducted air-conditioning installed by Sunshine Air and Mechanical. We don’t want to give to much more away…
